A heart-wrenching road accident occurred in Punjab's Jalandhar on Saturday night, claiming the life of Richie KP, the son of former MP and two-time cabinet minister Mohinder Singh KP. The incident took place near Model Town's Mata Rani Chowk at around 10:40 PM. CCTV footage clearly shows that a speeding Creta car struck three vehicles, including a Fortuner.
The collision was so severe that the airbags deployed. Richie KP, seated in his Fortuner, suffered critical injuries. He was immediately taken to Global Hospital and then referred to Patel Hospital. After examination, doctors declared him dead. Reportedly, a fractured neck bone led to his untimely demise.
Tragic Youth Fatality in Severe Road Accident
Following the crash, the Creta driver fled the scene. Police have begun searching for the driver using CCTV footage. The accident also injured two others, who were admitted to a private hospital. Police from Station-6 have seized all four vehicles involved.
Police Register Case and Commence Investigation
As news of the incident spread, large numbers of people visited Mohinder Singh KP's home to offer condolences. Well into the night, leaders from political and social organizations continued to provide support to the grieving family. DCP Naresh Dogra mentioned that investigations are ongoing and further actions will follow the post-mortem report.
