Jammu and Kashmir Police executed a significant operation against terrorism, dismantling an interstate and international terror module associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). This operation resulted in the arrest of seven individuals, two of whom are doctors.
2,900 Kilograms of Explosives Recovered
According to a news agency report, police seized a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and approximately 2,900 kilograms of materials used for making IEDs. This operation was carried out jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad police.
Police revealed that among those arrested are Dr. Muazzamil Ahmed Ganai from Faridabad and Dr. Adil from Kulgam. Investigations uncovered their links with foreign handlers and their involvement in raising funds via social and educational networks.
'White-Collar Terror Network'
Authorities described this as a 'white-collar terror network,' involving professionals and students connected with terrorists. They were coordinating the spread of ideology, fund movement, and weapon supplies through encrypted channels.
The case was registered after Jaish-e-Mohammed posters were found in the Bunpora Nowgam area of Srinagar on October 19. The investigation unveiled a network extending not only across the valley but also into Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Seven Suspected Terrorists Apprehended
Those arrested have been identified as Arif Nisar Dar aka Sahil, Yasir-ul-Ashraf, Maqsood Ahmed Dar alias Shahid (all from Srinagar), Maulvi Irfan Ahmed (Shopian), Jameer Ahmed Ahangar (Ganderbal), Dr. Muazzamil Ahmed Ganai from Pulwama, and Dr. Adil from Kulgam.
Doctor Arrested in Faridabad
Dr. Muazzamil was apprehended from his rented residence in Faridabad, where police discovered 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, along with an AK-56 rifle, AK Krinkov, Beretta pistol, Chinese Star pistol, and hundreds of cartridges. Police indicated that the network financed terrorist activities under the guise of social welfare.
