The ongoing conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas has resulted in the tragic loss of thousands of innocent civilians. Israel's military actions in Gaza have stirred global debates. Amidst this turmoil, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi has accused Israel of killing over 60,000 people, including 18,430 children.

In a social media post, Priyanka Gandhi stated, "Israel is committing genocide. It has killed over 60,000 people, including 18,430 children. Hundreds have been forced to starve, many of them children, with threats looming over millions more."

She further asserted that remaining silent or inactive in the face of these alleged crimes is itself a crime. She criticized the Indian government's silence while these actions unfold upon the people of Palestine.

Israel's Response to Priyanka’s Allegations...

Reuven Azar, Israel's ambassador to India, issued a stark rebuttal to Priyanka Gandhi’s claims. He stated, "These accusations are misleading. Israel has successfully targeted 25,000 Hamas terrorists. The substantial loss of human life is a result of Hamas's disgraceful tactics—using civilians as shields, targeting relief workers, and launching rockets."

Azar also highlighted that Israel has sent 2 million tons of food supplies to Gaza, which Hamas attempted to confiscate, exacerbating hunger. He claimed that Gaza's population has increased by 450% over the past 50 years, dismissing genocide allegations. He urged not to rely on Hamas's figures.

The exchange of statements on the Gaza conflict underscores the deep ideological and political divide between the parties involved. While Priyanka Gandhi describes it as a crime against humanity, Israel insists its efforts are directed against Hamas terrorists to ensure civilian safety.
