The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced on Tuesday that the initial two days of their retaliatory 'True Promise 4' operation inflicted severe damage on the U.S. military. Over 650 soldiers have been reported killed or wounded in these two days. IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naini stated that Iranian missile and drone strikes targeted American bases and warships in the Persian Gulf area, necessitating the withdrawal of the USS Abraham Lincoln away from the Iranian coast.
Significant Losses for the U.S. in the Initial Days
The spokesperson confirmed that the Iranian military inflicted substantial damage on American military installations in the Persian Gulf. General Naini stated, 'In the first two days of the conflict, 650 American troops have been killed or wounded.'
He emphasized that the U.S. is attempting to conceal or deny these casualties, but intelligence and battlefield reports from Iran have corroborated these numbers.
'Attack on Fifth Fleet in Bahrain'
According to General Naini, Iranian missiles and drones repeatedly struck the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet stationed in Bahrain. The report claims that an assault on this significant U.S. military base in Bahrain led to 160 American personnel being killed or wounded. Additionally, the U.S. Navy's 'MST' combat support ship suffered extensive damage from Iranian naval missiles.
'Forced Retreat of Aircraft Carrier'
The IRGC spokesman revealed that Iranian naval forces launched four cruise missiles at the USS Abraham Lincoln, stationed approximately 250 to 300 kilometers from the Chabahar coast. Following these assaults, the aircraft carrier reportedly made a run for safety towards the southeastern Indian Ocean. He mentioned that under 'Operation True Promise 4', Iran is employing its full military strength. Currently, tensions in the region have reached unprecedented levels, posing a significant threat to global security.
