Iran's Deputy Ambassador to India, Mohammad Javad Husseini, urged India to take a strong stance against Israel by openly condemning its actions and applying pressure. He suggested that significant, peace-promoting countries like India, who are voices of the global south, should lead in criticizing Israel.
Husseini highlighted that had global condemnation emerged during Israel's attacks against Hamas in October, Israel would not have dared to assault a nation as sovereign as Iran.
Questions Raised About IAEA's Role
Husseini challenged the neutrality of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), noting that the IAEA itself acknowledged that Iran was not engaged in any military nuclear activity, yet it still supported military actions against Iran, favoring Israel. This casts doubts on the IAEA's credibility.
'We Do Not Need Nuclear Weapons'
Husseini affirmed that nuclear weapons have no place in Iran's defense policy, and the nation does not require them for its security. He declared that nuclear arms are not part of our defense strategies. We can safeguard ourselves without them, and accusations suggesting Iran's enrichment of uranium for weaponry is entirely false. He stated these claims are part of a broader agenda aimed at a regime change, likely revealing their true intent.
Hope Expressed Regarding Pakistan
Responding to a journalist's query on whether the U.S. would utilize Pakistani territory following the Pakistani Army Chief's visit to the U.S., Husseini expressed hope that Pakistan would refrain and instead support Iran against Israeli assaults.
Warning of Iran's Unrevealed Capabilities
Husseini warned that Iran possesses certain abilities not publicly disclosed and reserved for the future. He cautioned against attempts to jeopardize the region's stability.
