In Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Sharad Singh, who transitioned genders two years ago, has welcomed a son into the world. His wife underwent surgery to give birth in a private hospital. Sharad expresses immense joy at becoming a father, describing the happiness as indescribable amid past challenges. Both mother and child are healthy.
Sarita Singh, the great-granddaughter of Kakori Train Action martyr Thakur Roshan Singh, began her gender transition process in 2021-22. Despite being born female, Sarita identified and behaved more like a male. Undergoing hormone therapy in Lucknow led to facial hair growth and a deepening voice.
At the start of 2023, Sharad underwent surgery in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to complete his gender transition. On June 27, 2023, he received a gender transition certificate in the name of Sharad Singh from the then-DM Umesh Pratap Singh.
Following this, Sharad Singh, a resident of Navada Darobast, KhudaGanj, married his long-time friend, Savita Singh from Devha village, Pilibhit, on November 23, 2023. On Wednesday morning, Savita was admitted to a private hospital due to labor pains and later in the evening, she gave birth to a son through surgery.

Sharad shared that the dream his wife Savita envisioned 10 to 15 years ago has come true today. According to Sharad, it has been 26 years since a child was born into their family. While many dream of having children, the journey to fatherhood amidst challenging circumstances has brought him life's greatest joy. Presently, Sharad is employed as an assistant teacher at a primary school in the Dadrul Development Block.
