In the 14th match of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced a resounding defeat by 8 wickets. Gujarat Titans (GT) reached RCB's target of 170 runs in the 18th over. RCB, playing their first home game this season, succumbed to a loss. Choosing to bowl first after winning the toss, Gujarat controlled the game right from the start. Batting first, RCB posted 169/8.

Chasing a target of 170, Gujarat's team managed the feat in just 17.5 overs. RCB entered the field unchanged, while Gujarat made a single swap, replacing Kagiso Rabada with Arshad Khan.

RCB's Batting Performance

RCB's batting began poorly. They were dealt an early blow in the second over when Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 7 runs by Arshad Khan. In the third over, Siraj bowled Padikkal out, followed by dismissing the dangerous Phil Salt in the fifth over. Captain Rajat Patidar was dismissed by Ishant in the seventh over. Jitesh Sharma tried to stabilize the innings with a score of 33 but was out in the 13th over. Then, Liam Livingstone delivered a thrilling half-century, complemented by Tim David's outstanding batting, helping RCB reach 170/8 in 20 overs.

Gujarat's Batting Mastery

Gujarat’s innings began with an excellent stride. Gill and Sai Sudarshan provided a solid start. Although Gill was out after scoring 14, Sudarshan and Jos Buttler took charge. Sudarshan fell for 49 but shifted the momentum toward Gujarat. Buttler played a remarkable unbeaten innings of 73, leading Gujarat to a thrilling victory by the 18th over.
