In the final Super-8 match of the 2026 T20 World Cup, thanks to Sanju Samson's unbeaten 97 runs off 50 balls, India has qualified for the semi-finals.
The Indian team overcame a record chase and defeated the West Indies by five wickets in a thrilling match at Kolkata's Eden Gardens, where they chased 196 runs, the biggest in the tournament's history. Now, India will face England in the semi-finals on March 5 in Mumbai, prior to which South Africa will clash with New Zealand on March 4 in Kolkata.

However, India's progression to the semi-finals hasn't been very digestible for some Pakistani players. Before the West Indies vs. India clash, former Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir predicted that India wouldn't make it to the semi-finals, only for his prophecy to be proven entirely wrong.
Now Mohammad Amir declares that India won't reach the finals
In a video, Amir explained that his prediction was based on analysis, but Sanju Samson played remarkably well. Nonetheless, he suggested that Team India hasn't played complete cricket yet. Aside from Bumrah, their bowlers haven’t been in form.
