In Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki, the MP-MLA court number 4 witnessed the much-discussed ambulance case involving gangster Mukhtar Ansari. Ansari's lawyer submitted a petition on his behalf. It stated, 'Your Honor, on the night of March 19th, I was poisoned through my meal. My health has deteriorated as a result, to the point where it feels like I am gasping for breath and overwhelmed with dread. My health was previously in perfect condition. Please arrange for a team of doctors to properly treat me. 40 days ago, I had a similar experience with toxic substances.'
From Banda Jail, the strongman Mukhtar Ansari did not appear during the virtual court session. Deputy Jailor Mahendra Singh was present. During the hearing, he confirmed that Mukhtar Ansari is ill and unable to attend the court proceedings. Consequently, the court set the next date for March 29. Ansari has requested that appropriate medical arrangements be made for his treatment. He urged for the formation of a medical board for proper investigation.

Ansari's lawyer Randhir Singh revealed that the former MLA submitted a prayer to the court stating he was subjected to slow poisoning through his food intake, exacerbating his health crisis. Therefore, he was unable to appear from Banda Jail via video conferencing. Deputy Jailor Mahendra Kumar represented him instead. The next hearing date is scheduled for March 29. Ansari has requested proper medical facilities and an examination by a medical board to prevent such incidents from recurring.
Appeal for a medical board investigation made to the court
It should be noted that on the basis of a falsely registered ambulance, a gangster case was approved against Mukhtar Ansari by the DM on March 24, 2022. Following this, the then City Police Chief registered a gangster case against Mukhtar Anari and 12 of his associates. After the submission of the charge sheet, the trial for this case is now proceeding in the MPMLA court.
