Exciting news for cricket enthusiasts: the stage is set once again for an electrifying face-off between the women's teams of India and Pakistan. The Women's Asia Cup 2024 promises an edge-of-your-seat blockbuster clash between these two cricketing powerhouses. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) unveiled the tournament schedule on a vibrant Tuesday, March 26.

A highlight of the Women's Asia Cup 2024, the India-Pakistan encounter is scheduled for July 21. The tournament will span July 19 to July 28 in the picturesque Dambulla, Sri Lanka, featuring a total of eight teams. Defending champions India are placed in Group A with Pakistan, Nepal, and the UAE. Group B comprises Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Last time around, seven teams competed for the title.

Team India is set to play their opening match on July 19 against the UAE. Following their battle with Pakistan, India's next challenge will be against Nepal on July 23. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals, which are to be played on July 26, culminating in the grand finale on July 28.

Once more, the tournament will be contested in the T20 format. India holds the record for the most Women's Asia Cup titles, having secured the trophy seven times. The previous edition, held in 2022, saw India triumph over Sri Lanka in the finals, claiming the prestigious trophy. This forthcoming tournament will be pivotal for all teams in preparation for the Women's T20 World Cup taking place in Bangladesh during September-October.

Other matches feature Pakistan, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, building up to the semi-final showdowns on the 26th and the grand final on July 28.
