Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will visit Patna on Wednesday, where he will participate in the 'strike' movement against the new labor codes and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in Bihar. This movement was announced on Monday by the leaders of the INDIA alliance. Tejashwi Yadav declared they will strike together with Rahul Gandhi on July 9. He stated, 'Just as the voting rights of Bihar's people are being taken away, other rights will soon follow. Therefore, we will oppose this.'
March to the Election Commission Office
On Monday, a meeting was attended by RJD leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Kumar, AICC Incharge for Bihar, Krishna Allavaru, and leaders of the left parties. Rajesh Kumar revealed that Rahul Gandhi will join the protestors in Patna, and a march to the Election Commission's office will also take place. This movement is scheduled across Bihar, but Gandhi will attend the main event in Patna.
'Movement in Every District of Bihar'
Tejashwi Yadav mentioned, 'We will all be in Patna with Rahul Gandhi, but this movement will occur in every district of Bihar. We support the strike against the labor code as it is an attack on democracy, similar to the special revision campaign of the electoral roll.'
Accusations Against the Election Commission
Tejashwi accused that the special revision of the electoral rolls conducted by the Election Commission is filled with 'confusion' and 'lack of transparency.' He expressed concerns that the entire process is intended to benefit the ruling NDA alliance.
Demand for Fairness
He also stated that the revision of the electoral rolls is being conducted too swiftly, whereas it requires adequate time and public hearings. Tejashwi demanded that the Election Commission maintain impartiality and ensure transparency of the process.
Participating Parties
The Congress, RJD, CPI(ML), CPI(M), and other leftist parties will participate in this movement. The leaders have urged the public to actively partake in this demonstration.
