The fourth day of the AI Impact Summit has arrived, bringing with it a wave of foreign investments into India. Renowned companies such as Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Qualcomm have stepped up to announce their involvement. These tech giants revealed plans to develop data centers and new AI models within the country.

On Wednesday, Google's CEO Sundar Pichai met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unveiling an ambitious plan to invest approximately 15 billion USD in India over the next five years. Both Pichai and Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, are currently in India for the AI Impact Summit.

Google to Establish a Major AI Hub in India

Google's investment is set to create the nation's first major AI hub. A substantial part of this project is the upcoming mega AI data center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, which will become a core site for AI model training, cloud services, and computing.

Microsoft Unveils Plans for Major Investment

During the AI Impact Summit 2026, Microsoft announced plans to invest 50 billion USD in the Global South over the next four years. This adds to the 17.5 billion USD investment announced in India last year.

Nvidia's Partnership with Yotta and L&T

Yotta Data Services also announced an investment exceeding 2 billion USD in developing Nvidia's latest chips, bolstering an AI computing hub that will significantly enhance early-stage AI initiatives within the country. Yotta aims to raise approximately 1.2 billion USD from expansion investors.

Collaboration with L&T Underway

The AI Impact Summit sees a congregation of tech and AI companies from around the globe. Nvidia is planning to set up a mega AI factory in India, partnering with the Indian conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to bring this initiative to fruition.

As part of the collaboration, billions of dollars will be invested, strengthening the infrastructure and capabilities within India's burgeoning AI sector.
