In preparation, former Indian cricket legends have counseled Shubman Gill and his team to quickly familiarize themselves with the English playing conditions for a successful series. Former England captain Michael Vaughan considers this five-Test match series a potential new dawn for the Indian squad.

The Indian team currently finds itself in a period of transition as star players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have retired from Test cricket. Additionally, fast bowler Mohammed Shami has not been included for this tour. Cheteshwar Pujara emphasized that in England, every player must contribute meaningfully to the team.
