Following India's Operation Sindoor, Pakistan's terror affiliations have been exposed to the global stage, establishing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's government's reliance on military backing. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has now acknowledged this reality. Addressing the current state from prison, Imran Khan expressed a desire to negotiate exclusively with the Pakistani military, dismissing dialogues with the 'puppet' government of PML-N as futile.
The Government's Lack of Power
Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been imprisoned since August 2023, facing various cases initiated after his government was overthrown in April 2022. In a post on X, he wrote, 'Engaging with the puppet PML-N government is pointless. This unlawful Form-47 government has already squandered two months with fake authority that wields no real power.'
Imran Khan stated that discussions should be held only with those actually in power (the military establishment), in the interest of the nation. He expressed no fear of adversity, standing firm in his intentions. Khan alleged that baseless political cases, forced abductions, and coerced press conferences aim to publicly dissociate members from PTI.
Trapped in False Cases
He commented on how these actions highlight the complete dissolution of the rule of law in Pakistan, ushering in a state of disorder. Currently detained in the high-security Adiala Jail, Imran Khan mentioned the resumption of baseless May 9, 2023, related cases.
Former PM Imran highlighted that the incident on May 9 was a false narrative; no CCTV footage has been presented to date. The past two years undeniably show the intent to crush PTI, and publicizing the footage would reveal the truth.
Denied Family Visits In Jail
The PTI leader refuted claims of being approached for deals by the military or others. He stated that no one has approached him for talks, labeling contrary reports as false.
Imran Khan also claimed restrictions on communication with his children, with family visits arbitrarily delayed and even his private doctor denied access. Nonetheless, he vowed to remain strong for his country.
Recently, Imran Khan jested about Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir's potential promotion to Field Marshal. His post on X suggested that the army chief should declare himself the 'King', given that Pakistan resembles a jungle where only one king reigns.
