The aftermath of chaos at Delhi Railway Station, caused by the massive rush for the holy Sangam dip, is echoing in Prayagraj. Trains bound for Delhi from Prayagraj stand canceled, leaving thousands of pilgrims stuck. Pilgrims who took the holy dip on Sunday and had reservations for Monday were informed by IRCTC in the morning that their trains were canceled.
The foremost challenge for them is finding a way back home. Pilgrims express that while they made it to the Sangam for their holy rituals, returning home now seems distant. Many planned to resume work on Monday, but are now clueless about reaching Delhi. The buses too are swamped with crowds, charging exorbitantly compared to regular days.
This issue extends beyond Delhi travelers, affecting trains arriving from Patna as well. Even second-class reserved passengers face hardships, with the overwhelming crowd occupying their reserved seats. Not just general coaches, the reserved ones too are forcibly being infiltrated, making travel strenuous.
Numerous passengers report that despite holding confirmed tickets, they can't find space to sit. The railway administration mentions plans to possibly operate additional trains, though concrete actions remain pending. Simultaneously, the station is engulfed in chaos, with travelers visibly distressed about reaching their destinations.
