An IIT student accusing Kanpur ACP Mohsin Khan of rape has pleaded for justice from the UP government and police. Through social media posts, she alleged a smear campaign against her by the ACP and his lawyer. She stated that if this harassment continues, suicide would be her last resort.
The distressed student voiced concerns on X about a potential fake FIR against her. She also criticized the justice system and law enforcement, noting that ACP Mohsin Khan neither faced suspension nor arrest despite the grave accusations.
The IIT Kanpur PhD research scholar wrote, 'I am the complainant in the FIR filed at Kalyanpur police station in Uttar Pradesh. Mohsin Khan, the accused, is a PPS officer, causing me dire challenges. Even after being a victim of such a heinous crime, Mohsin Khan and his lawyer attempt to tarnish my reputation. While the accused has the right to defend, their alarming and dangerous methods are worrisome.'
According to the victim, 'Mohsin's lawyer falsely claimed in an interview that I attempted to harm Mohsin's child and falsely alleged I am married, aiming to ruin my reputation and weaken my case. Due to these false claims and allegations, I am terrified. Mohsin Khan, whose deeds have been exposed, remains neither suspended nor arrested. He may file fake cases against me, which could destroy my career and future.'
She added, 'I am preparing for civil services and planning to work abroad. Even a single false case, despite being baseless, can ruin the career I have worked hard to establish. In India, where women often struggle to file complaints and seek justice, I question whether I can expect justice within this system. I specifically request the Uttar Pradesh police not to register any false case against me. I beseech you to help prevent further harassment. I have already risked my dignity and reputation for justice, but I cannot sacrifice my career and future. If this harassment persists, I will have no option but to end my life.' As she penned her plea, the student sought justice from the UP police and government.
