In a shocking revelation, police in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh solved a mysterious murder case, arresting the deceased's wife along with her lover and one accomplice. The arrest was made following the discovery of a man's body under suspicious circumstances near the Kulbehra River in Gangiwada.
On January 20, the local police received reports of an unidentified body found beneath a bridge on the Kulbehra River. A motorcycle was also discovered near the site. When the police arrived at the scene, Vinita, a resident of Khunajhir Khurd, identified the deceased as her husband, only Sallam. The police registered a case and began their investigation.
Initially, the death appeared to be an accident. However, post-mortem revealed asphyxiation due to strangulation and severe head trauma as the cause of death. Based on the preliminary PM report, a case was registered for further investigation.
Under the guidance of SP Ajay Pandey, Inspector Govind Singh Rajput and his team launched a manhunt for unknown suspects. Investigations involved examining only Sallam's mobile records and interrogating his father and brother. CCTV footage from the vicinity provided critical leads, revealing an affair between only Sallam's wife Vinita and Manish Sahu.
Upon discovering the affair, Sallam began having frequent disputes with his wife. Consequently, following Vinita's suggestion, lover Manish Sahu orchestrated a deadly plan. On January 18, Sallam was taken to the Kulbehra River, intoxicated, and subsequently strangled with a scarf before being fatally hit with a stone. To simulate an accident, Sallam's motorcycle was discarded near the river.
The police swiftly arrested the accused: Vinita Sallam, lover Manish Sahu, and his accomplice Vikas Sahu. All were sent to prison pending trial.
