From the streets of Gurugram, comes a spine-chilling account of an acid attack. A man, in a fit of rage, targeted his wife with this corrosive substance, sending shockwaves across the community. The woman was rushed to a private hospital from where she was referred to Delhi's renowned Safdarjung Hospital in a hurried manner.
According to the police complaint, the woman has been living in Choma village of Gurugram for the past four months, earning her living by working in households while embroiled in a conflict with her husband. In the evenings, after finishing her work, she would head back home.
As she neared the Ansal Mall, a masked individual suddenly attacked her from behind with a flammable acid and immediately fled the scene. Her cries for help gathered a crowd, and the police were promptly informed.
Husband perpetrates acid attack on wife
The appalling event took place on Wednesday evening, around 6:30 pm outside Ansal Mall, Palam Vihar. According to the Gurugram police, domestic disputes led the husband to commit this harrowing act. ACP Naveen revealed that the assailant has been absconding since the attack, and efforts to apprehend him are underway. The victim, a domestic worker in the Palam Vihar area, suffered severe burns to her arms, legs, and waist from the acid.
Police register case and commence investigation
ACP Naveen further stated that multiple teams have been formed to arrest the accused. The injured woman is reported to be out of danger and is currently receiving treatment at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.
