Honda Activa Electric Launched:
One of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, showcased its electric scooter, 'Activa e,' at the end of last year. Now officially launched for sale at India's Mobility Global Expo (BMGE 2025) in Delhi's Pragati Maidan, the prices have been revealed.
The base variant of the Activa e is priced at 1.17 lakh INR, while the top model, the Road Sync Duo variant, is priced at 1.52 lakh INR (ex-showroom). Initially available in three cities, the scooter will start deliveries in Bangalore by February 2025 and in Delhi and Mumbai by April 2025. Pre-booking is already open and can be done for 1,000 INR. Design and Look:
Honda Activa Electric has received a brand-new design and look. It shares its body and frame with the petrol model Activa but flaunts a distinct appearance. With a new apron adding uniqueness to its styling, LED headlamps accompanied by turn indicators on both sides, and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on the head, this scooter is a sight to behold. It features a long seat with a compact floorboard, and the tail lamp unit proudly displays the "ACTIVA e:" badge.
Battery and Driving Range:
Beneath the seat, the Activa Electric boasts a swappable battery setup containing two 1.5 kWh capacity batteries. The electric motor produces a power output of 4.2 kW (5.6 bhp), extendable up to 6.0 kW (8 bhp). Claimed to deliver a 102 km range on a single charge, this scooter offers three riding modes: Standard, Sport, and Econ.
Swappable Battery Technology:
The Activa Electric features a swappable battery pack. Honda's battery swapping branch, Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID), announced that the Honda e:Swap service will launch in February 2025 in Bangalore and April 2025 in New Delhi and Mumbai for the new Honda Activa e:. By March 2026, the company aims to establish 250 battery-swapping stations in Bangalore, 150 in Delhi, and 100 in Mumbai.

Charge in Minutes:
In November 2021, HEID was established to launch battery swapping services in India, initially focusing on electric auto-rickshaws. When the scooter's battery is depleted, a fully charged replacement is available at swapping stations, saving users charging time. Users can swap their scooter's battery in less than a minute. Additionally, a home charger option is available, requiring registration via the HEID mobile app. This app provides comprehensive information on battery swapping services. Payment for battery swapping is usage-based. Partnerships with HPCL, BMRCL, DMRC, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited, and HMSI dealerships have already facilitated battery exchanger installations.
Power and Speed:
This scooter offers three riding modes: Econ, Standard, and Sport, with the Sport mode delivering a top speed of 80 km/h. The company claims it can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 7.3 seconds.
