On the festive day of Holi, a catastrophic accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur, claiming the lives of four young men on a motorcycle when a truck crashed into them. The incident plunged the families of the deceased into mourning, overshadowing the holiday's joy. Upon receiving news of the tragedy, the police promptly arrived at the scene, taking custody of the bodies for autopsy.

According to the District Officer Manjari Rao, the collision happened on the evening of March 25, in the village of Samogara on National Highway 35. The motorcyclists were reportedly travelling the wrong way when the truck collided with them. The victims have been identified as Rakesh Kumar Singh (24), Sonu Prajapati (20), Pawan Prajapati (20), and Vikas Prajapati (22).

The officer stated that the truck driver responsible for the collision has been arrested and the vehicle has been seized. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and further proceedings are ongoing. Peace and order have been maintained at the scene of the accident.

Visuals from the site reveal the severity of the accident. The motorbike (a Bullet) was severely damaged by the impact of the truck, and the young riders laid lifeless by the roadside. Crowds had gathered around, and the distressing sounds of the victims' families wailing could be heard.

It is worth noting that on the day of Holi, similar road accident reports emerged from various districts of Uttar Pradesh. In Mathura, three young men on a bike lost their lives in a collision, and in Badaun as well, a road mishap claimed the lives of three individuals travelling on a bike.
