The cricket match between India and Pakistan is taking place in Dubai. This is the first match between the two nations since the Pahalgam incident. Various political parties across the country have called for protests. Parties like Congress, RJD, Samajwadi Party, and AIMIM have voiced their opposition and raised questions against the government. AIMIM’s Delhi chief, Shoaib Jamai, had urged his party workers to protest against this match.

Delhi Police detained Shoaib Jamai due to his posts on social media regarding the match. His release is planned after the match concludes, and he is currently held at the Jamia Nagar police station.

Shoaib Jamai took to the social media platform X to make several posts, threatening to disrupt the screening of the India-Pakistan match.

In one post, he stated, 'AIMIM Delhi might disrupt any public screening of the India vs. Pakistan match tonight. It is shameful for the BJP to mock the martyrs of Pahalgam. War and cricket cannot go hand in hand.'

AIMIM supporters gathered in large numbers outside the station, protesting against the unjust detention of their Delhi leader. While supporters expressed dissent outside, an inquiry was conducted inside with Shoaib Jamai.

The Aam Aadmi Party also joined in protest over the India-Pakistan match at various locations across Delhi. In Connaught Place, AAP workers were dispersed by the police. Protesters raised slogans against Pakistan.
