The notorious gangster Anil Dujana, once considered the personification of terror in Western Uttar Pradesh, was killed in an encounter. The UP STF shot down Anil Dujana in Meerut on Thursday. He faced over 60 criminal charges, including 18 murders. Anil Dujana was known as a synonym for terror in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Delhi-NCR, and Haryana. The famed gangster's real name was Anil Nagar, who hailed from Dujana village in the Badalpur police station area of Greater Noida.
Anil had been released from Tihar Jail just last month, on 10th April. Upon his release, he had threatened witnesses testifying against him in Gautam Buddha Nagar. He had also threatened a businessman. In light of this, Noida Police had recently registered two cases against him. Since then, the Noida Police had been actively searching for the criminal. Several teams were deployed in different areas to locate the notorious figure.

The infamous Anil Nagar from the Dadri area of Gautam Buddha Nagar was a longtime resident of Dujana village. He was a formidable name in the crime world for nearly three decades with multiple allegations, including murder, attempted murder, dacoity, robbery, extortion, and riots, against him recorded at Badalpur police station. He was also listed among the top 65 mafias in UP.

Anil Dujana was closely associated with Western UP gangster Naresh Bhati and was his hitman. Following a feud, the infamous gangster Sunder Bhati had Naresh Bhati killed. Anil Dujana then took over Naresh Bhati's gang. He engaged in murder, extortion, dacoity, land-grabbing, and contract killings. He had even launched an AK47 assault on Sunder Bhati to avenge past grievances, though Sunder Bhati survived the attempt. Since then, Anil Dujana became widely known as 'Chhota Shakeel' in Western UP's underworld.

The initiation of hostility with Sunder Bhati
During the '90s, Western UP frequently witnessed gang wars due to a rivalry between Mahendra Fauji and Satbir Gurjar. Sunder Bhati and Naresh Bhati were then underling to Satbir Gurjar. But their mutual desire to become the district panchayat president brought Sunder Bhati and Naresh Bhati head to head. Although Naresh Bhati won the election, an enraged Sunder Bhati had Naresh Bhati killed in 2004. Subsequently, to avenge this murder, Naresh's brother Randip Bhati and nephew Amit Kasana teamed up with Dujana.
