An important meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) took place in the national capital, Delhi. This session was marked by the presence of heavyweight officials including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and senior officers. Sources reveal that the meeting was extensively focused on the growing terrorist attacks in Jammu, discussing strategies to take stern action against them.
Recent events in various regions of Jammu and Kashmir have brought to light a series of terrorist attacks, resulting in the martyrdom of several soldiers. It has been reported that the government is preparing to launch a significant counteroffensive against terrorists. One of the latest incursions in the valley occurred in the Kastigarh area of Doda district. Just this morning, an encounter unfolded between security forces and terrorists, with militants becoming increasingly active in the valley. On Monday evening, another encounter in Doda resulted in the martyrdom of five brave soldiers.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 'An encounter has commenced in the Kastigarh area of Doda. Further details are awaited.' Sources indicate that in the encounter, an army soldier was injured. This incident marks the sixth encounter with terrorists in Doda within a month.

Five soldiers martyred in the Doda encounter
On Monday evening, an encounter resulted in serious injuries to five soldiers, including an officer, during a joint search operation initiated by the National Rifles and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Desa forest area near Dhari Gote Urarbagi. After a brief exchange of gunfire, terrorists attempted to flee. Courageous soldiers, led by an officer, pursued them across challenging terrain and dense forests, leading to another encounter around 9 p.m. in the forest.

Officials informed that the five severely injured soldiers were admitted to the hospital for treatment, where they succumbed to their injuries the following morning. The deceased included an army officer, three soldiers, and one personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Kashmir Tigers claim responsibility
The terrorist organization Kashmir Tigers, an offshoot of Jaish-e-Mohammed, claimed responsibility for the Doda attack. This organization recently took responsibility for an attack on an army convoy in Kathua. In the wake of multiple terrorist attacks in the Jammu region over the past few weeks, security forces are on high alert.
