Tuesday marks a critical juncture for the coalition government of BJP and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in Haryana, as a collective cabinet resignation could pave the way for a newly constituted ministry. The current alliance between the BJP and JJP may not endure the strain.
A legislative assembly meeting is set for 12 PM in Haryana. Observers Arjun Munda and Tarun Chowk are expected to participate. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala is due to meet Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi to discuss the coalition strategy for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The JJP is reportedly demanding one to two seats from the BJP for the same.
Prior to this meeting, Dushyant Chautala met with BJP National President JP Nadda on Monday, but they could not reach an agreement regarding electoral alliance terms.
Sources suggest that the BJP leadership is not inclined to concede seats to the JJP. The Haryana BJP also favors contesting on all ten parliamentary seats.
