In Rohtak, Haryana, an officer from the cyber cell tragically ended his life. A suicide note and video message were discovered at the scene.
The deceased made serious allegations against the late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar in his note, accusing him of corruption and using casteism to manipulate the system.
The ASI claimed to have died as a 'martyr against corruption' and called for an impartial inquiry into the family. Sources indicate he was involved in a significant investigation related to IPS Puran Kumar’s gunman Sushil Kumar.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem and continue to investigate. The note and video have been secured by the forensic team.
Contents of the Suicide Note:
In his note, the ASI wrote, 'Sandeep Kumar S/O Dayanand, from Village Julana, Jind. I always stood by truth. I admire truthful and virtuous people. My grandfathers served in the army, with one imprisoned in Burma for seven years. Patriotism runs in my veins; no one is above the nation and society. Bhagat Singh is my idol for awakening the country to freedom. Corruption and casteism are major societal issues today, always hindering truth and ideals. Some officers in IAS in Haryana are deeply corrupt, but honest officers under the BJP government have curbed this to an extent. The DGP is a brave and honest man I respect. Initially, I faced many difficulties acclimating, but my commitment to truth remained unwavering.'

He further wrote that while great efforts were made to curb crime, receiving support and guidance from several officers, the appointment of corrupt officers in the IG office by IPS Puran Kumar after his transfer to the Rohtak Range increased difficulties. The spreading of casteism poisoned the environment, exploitation of files to extort money was rampant, while officers who resisted were mentally tortured. Women police officers were harassed under the pretense of transfers, and citizens were subjected to extortion and abuse.
The note states, 'If anyone raised a voice, they were told nothing could harm the IG, who is married to an IAS officer, brother-in-law a MLA, and with a family in the SC Commission. This empowered Puran Kumar to conduct unabated corruption. Authorities were made aware, leading to his transfer, but he disgraced a businessman previously threatened by goons, demanding money from his office with CCTV proof.' The businessman’s allegations led to legal action. 'To escape arrest, they created a false suicide narrative, targeting IAS officers seeking honesty. Throughout Haryana, casteism is being used as a weapon to torture honest officials.'
Finally, Sandeep Kumar stated, 'This is a battle of truth and integrity against corruption. Truth must prevail. The IAS wife's act is to cover her corruption; their property should be probed. Our society's corrupt elements wish to downplay this fight but forget patriotism is ingrained in us. I may be the first to offer my life in this honest struggle, but many more will stand for truth.'
Note that the prominent Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, involved in controversies, had died by suicide on October 7, 2025, in his Chandigarh residence, stating harassment by senior officials in his note.
