On the occasion of Vijayadashami, an astonishing event occurred at the Khodiyar Mata temple near Padariya village adjoining Girnar's forest. While monks were chanting during a ritual, three lions appeared and sat near the ceremonial fire pit.
The scene was nothing short of miraculous for locals and participating devotees. The lions, serene and composed, stayed during the entire ritual, as monks continued their chants without fear, embodying peace and devotion.
District Forest Officer Dr. Akshay Joshi explained that given the proximity to dense forests, lion appearances might not be surprising. Yet, the harmonious interaction between wildlife and humans left everyone astonished.

Locals believe this occurrence symbolizes the divine blessing and power of Khodiyar Mata. The lions sitting during the chants felt like they were participating in the worship, staying for about two hours before returning to the forest once the ritual concluded.
