The people of Bihar have turned out in droves to cast their votes in two decisive phases. After the second phase of voting concluded on November 11, exit polls indicate a return of the NDA government. The latest Axis My India exit poll also supports this prediction, revealing a big positive for RJD.

According to the Axis My India exit poll, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) could become the largest party in Bihar. The prediction allocates RJD 67-71 seats, while the Janata Dal (United) (JDU) might secure 56 to 62 seats and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could gain 50 to 56 seats.

For the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, NDA allies BJP and JDU each contested on 101 seats. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) ran for 29 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) for 6, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM, Upendra Kushwaha) for 6 seats.

Out of the 243 Bihar assembly seats, RJD is expected to secure 67 to 71 seats, JDU 56 to 62 seats, BJP 50 to 56 seats, Congress 17 to 21 seats, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 11 to 16 seats, HAM(S) 2 to 3 seats, RLM 2 to 4 seats, and Prashant Kishor's 'Jan Suraj Party' possibly 0 to 2 seats.

In this election, the Grand Alliance, featuring RJD as a key player, contested on 143 seats, with Congress aiming for 60 to 61 seats.

Voting Preferences: Which group supported whom?

The Axis My India exit polls shed light on voting patterns by caste and religion. The NDA has received clear support across key demographic groups, achieving 49% from SC voters, 58% from EBC, 63% from OBC, and 65% from upper caste voters.

By contrast, the Grand Alliance received backing from 29% of the SC community, 26% from the EBC, 19% from OBC, and just 14% from the upper castes. Jan Suraj Party wielded minimal influence, capturing 3 to 7 percent of votes—3% from SC, 4% from EBC, 5% from OBC, and 7% from upper castes. Other parties collectively secured 12 to 19 percent of the votes.

How did women voters sway the results?

The latest Axis My India exit poll suggests that women voters have significantly backed the NDA once again. The survey reveals that 45% of women chose the NDA, while the figure was 41% among men. Meanwhile, the Grand Alliance received 42% of votes from men and 40% from women. Jan Suraj Party secured 5% of votes from men and 3% from women, while other parties garnered an equal 12% share from both genders.

This survey was conducted over 243 assembly constituencies in 2154 villages and towns, involving 42,031 participants.
