The DCP of Greater Noida took action in the counterfeit cheese case by suspending Anoop Dixit, the in-charge of the Jewar Toll Plaza post, and Sansar Singh, a sub-inspector. This action was taken late Sunday night. It is alleged that the suspensions were in response to the physical and verbal mistreatment of a BJP leader.
This entire incident began with the seizure of 1150 kg of spoiled cheese at the Jewar toll. The cheese was being transported to Delhi and was stored in the open where it emitted an unpleasant odor.
Chaos after cheese seizure
The food department intercepted a vehicle on Friday night at the Jewar toll with 1150 kg of spoiled cheese. The cheese was intended for sale in Delhi and was emitting a foul odor, leading to its destruction, and samples were sent for testing. The people in the vehicle protested this action, which included a leader, prompting police action. Following this, the police detained three individuals, including a former head, on charges of disrupting peace.
Former minister's arrival intensifies the issue
Upon learning of the detention, former Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan reached the Jewar police station with his supporters, protesting against the police's actions, which led to an uproar. A video of the incident went viral, showing the supporters creating a commotion. As the situation escalated, the DCP of Greater Noida suspended the police station in-charge and the sub-inspector late Sunday night.
