In a shocking discovery that rippled through Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, an elder's body was found inside a chest, triggering widespread alarm. Upon receiving the report, police rushed to the scene, took possession of the corpse, and initiated a forensic examination to unravel the mystery. At the time of this grisly finding, the 16-year-old granddaughter was reportedly hiding on a neighbor's rooftop. The police detained her for questioning.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the Krishna Colony neighborhood in Madhavganj area, where the 64-year-old Ramswaroop Rathore, a retired home guard, lived. He had been found within a chest in his own residence. When Rathore's son could not locate his daughter, she was eventually discovered concealed on a rooftop next door. Rathore hailed from Datia district, and his granddaughter had come to visit him in Gwalior just eight days prior to the incident.
During the son's last contact with his father on the 25th, all subsequent attempts to reach him went unanswered, causing great concern. Upon arriving in Gwalior on a Friday, he discovered his father's body locked inside the chest and promptly informed the police.
ASP Niranjan Sharma reported a case of unnatural death under investigation and indicated that the deceased, a retired home guard soldier aged 65, was found inside a trunk at his home. The body appeared to have been deceased for several days. The teenager, Rathore's granddaughter, has been taken into custody for further interrogation.
