A shocking tale has emerged from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh regarding the murder of a mother and daughter. According to the police, a young man known to the victims executed this heinous act. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the murders to pay off his girlfriend’s father’s debt and impress her, escaping with cash and jewelry.

The incident occurred on the night of November 23, in Shahpur’s Ghosipurwa area, where 75-year-old Shanti Jaiswal and her 50-year-old daughter Vimla Jaiswal were killed. The mother and daughter lived alone without any male presence in the house.

Investigations revealed that the family had a close relationship with a young man who lived in the neighborhood. He frequently visited their home and had gained their trust. The young man referred to Vimla as ‘aunt’, and she considered him her nephew.

The young man and Vimla often drank together, a routine that had continued for several years. It turned out he had his eyes on her money. When questioned by the police, he revealed that he deeply loved his girlfriend, who had informed him about her father’s significant debt, and he was willing to go to any lengths to impress his girlfriend.

Over time, the young man became familiar with Vimla’s household, gaining knowledge about where she kept her gold jewelry and cash. He hatched a plan to rob the house, deciding to eliminate his ‘aunt’ and take her money.

On November 23, the young man, with theft intentions, brought along a bottle of alcohol to Vimla’s house. He prepared drinks for them both, planning to strike once she was intoxicated. However, Vimla did not get drunk as expected, and the young man saw his plan failing. Determined to seize the opportunity, he decided the theft had to occur that same day.

When Vimla didn’t get intoxicated, the young man took a hammer from the room and struck her on the head until she succumbed. Meanwhile, Vimla’s elderly mother, lying in the next room, heard the commotion and inquired what was happening.

Consequently, the young man attacked and killed the elderly woman too, fleeing with money and jewelry. The following day, he roamed the city, met with his girlfriend, gifted her an expensive mobile phone, secured cash at his house, and paid part of the debt owed by his girlfriend’s father.

The case baffled the police, initially perceived as a robbery by outsiders. However, no clues regarding external involvement could be traced.

SP City Abhinav Tyagi revealed that police investigated and questioned neighbors, reviewing CCTV footage that identified a suspect. Upon interrogation, his behavior aroused suspicion. Under rigorous questioning, the entire narrative unfolded: he admitted to the crime to impress his girlfriend and pay off her father’s debts.
