In a harrowing incident in Gopalganj, Bihar, an acid attack claimed the life of one individual. The altercation on Monday night in Hathua Thana's Machhagarh Jagdish village escalated to violence between two parties, with both sides launching acid attacks. In the aftermath, one person lost their life while two others suffered from severe burn injuries. The deceased has been identified as one Kaptaan Sah.
According to police reports, the village was hosting a wedding procession which led to a dispute over vehicle placement at a local's doorstep. This quickly drew crowds from both sides, turning into a physical confrontation. Subsequently, an exchange of acid attacks occurred, resulting in Kaptaan Sah's death. The authorities have arrested five individuals involved in the case from both factions.
Dispute Over Wedding Procession Vehicle Parking Spot
The villagers state that the immediate dispute was about the parking of the wedding procession vehicle. Indeed, the two families involved have been in a long-standing feud over land rights. On Monday night, the altercation over parking escalated when a family member from the wedding house provoked the opposing family, leading to conflict. Meanwhile, the two acid attack victims have been referred to Gorakhpur for advanced medical care.
Police Monitoring Situation Closely
Meanwhile, Hathua SDPO Anand Gupta stated that there was a fight over the accommodation of the wedding procession in Machhagarh Jagdish village, which turned violent with an acid attack. A villager perished in the violent clash, and two others were sent for medical treatment due to injuries. Five people have been arrested in connection to this case. The police are keeping a close watch on the matter, ensuring peace is maintained in the village.
