In Ghazipur, UP, the police have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of two RPF personnel after a confrontation. One suspect was shot in the leg during the encounter. In recent days, the bodies of the RPF personnel were found in a mutilated state near the railway tracks in the Gehamar police jurisdiction. Their families feared foul play upon seeing the bodies. The police were determined to solve this case.

The case was solved with the cooperation of the GRP, RPF, and the STF. Four notorious inter-state criminals involved in the assassination have been apprehended. One was injured in cross-firing with the police. The arrested criminals are connected to liquor smuggling.
It is to be noted that the bodies of two RPF personnel, Javed Khan and Pramod Kumar Singh, were found at different locations in the Gehamar police station area on the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay-Danapur rail route. Ghazipur police put in their best efforts to unravel the mystery behind the killings. The team investigated multiple angles. After the incident, the investigation team reached Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction and inspected various coaches of the Guwahati-Barmer Express, as the RPF personnel had embarked on their journey on this train, but their bodies were found in Ghazipur.
It is reported that the murderers were involved in liquor smuggling, and due to their interference, both RPF personnel lost their lives. Currently, the police have issued a press note stating that the case was cracked based on information from SWAT, surveillance, and an informant. The joint team of SWAT/Surveillance and Gehamar police station caught the liquor smugglers in a police encounter, recovering a 9mm bore government pistol. A total of four people have been arrested.
One of the injured criminals, Premchand (35), hails from Patna (Bihar). The other three criminals also belong to Bihar. They already have several cases registered against them. Their arrest clarifies that the RPF personnel were murdered by liquor smugglers. The Noida STF unit was also involved in the arrest operation.
According to the police press note, during the recovery of the slain personnel's belongings, a criminal attempted to escape by snatching a policeman's pistol at the crime scene. The police captured him after shooting him in the leg during the encounter.
