Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister, on Tuesday, responded to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's offer to contest the Lok Sabha elections as a Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate calling it 'immature and ludicrous,' adding that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) selects its candidates through a systematic process.

Gadkari stated that Thackeray's remark reflects his immaturity, which is utterly ridiculous, and that Shiv Sena need not worry about the BJP leaders.

Uddhav Thackeray’s Statement

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray (UBT) recently reacted to BJP's first list. He mentioned, 'BJP's list is out with many names. Kripashankar Singh, whom BJP accused of corruption, is also listed with PM Modi, but Nitin Gadkari, who has done so much groundwork for BJP in Maharashtra, is missing from the list.'

Thackeray continued, 'Mr. Gadkari, leave BJP. We will ensure your victory from MVA. Show them what Maharashtra is about. Maharashtra has never bowed to Delhi.'

Devendra Fadnavis Targets Uddhav Thackeray

Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis responded to Thackeray's statement saying, 'Uddhav Thackeray's party is left only with band and pageantry. They are offering a seat to someone like our national leader Gadkari. It's like someone from the neighborhood offering the presidency of America. The seat for Maharashtra has not been announced yet because there is ongoing deliberation among the COALITION PARTIES, and when discussion of the Lok Sabha candidates from Maharashtra occurs, Nitin Gadkari's name will come first.'
