The Rajya Sabha witnessed a rise in temperature during the discussion on the motion of thanks to the President's speech. Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge unleashed his fierce form. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar exercised strictness from his chair. Monday unfolded with intense disputes and mentions that spanned from the RSS to Vajpayee.

In his fiery speech during the discussion, Kharge claimed that figures from professors to vice-chancellors and educational institutions have been dominated by the RSS and BJP affiliates. To this assertion, chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar objected, advising him that such a statement would be expunged, outlining his rationale. Kharge retorted, calling for lists of appointments, questioning the representation of different communities.

Chairman Dhankhar disputed the opposition leader's characterization of membership in organizations like the RSS as culpable, defending it as a contributing institution to the nation's cause, with proven excellence globally. The chairman dismissed claims labeling the RSS ideology as detrimental, stating otherwise.

Dhankhar called for the expunging of another of Kharge's statements, leading to an uproar from the governing party members. Leader of the House JP Nadda condemned the opposition leader's remarks as irresponsible, whereas Kharge maintained his criticism of the government on various issues including Manipur, urging attention to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's statements.

The chairman requested verification of the speeches' authenticity Kharge referenced, to be retained in the proceedings. Amidst controversies, debates about authenticity and the value of speeches raged, the chairman urged respect towards differing perspectives.
