With the general elections just around the corner, political parties are in full gear for preparations. Amid these developments, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has levelled serious charges. They claim to have received messages that warn if they do not exit the INDIA coalition, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal will receive a CBI notice and might be arrested.

Delhi minister and AAP leader Atishi stated that intimidating Kejriwal with arrest would be a grave miscalculation. Kejriwal is not one to be frightened by such threats. Since yesterday evening, messages from various sources have been received. It has been suggested that Kejriwal will receive a notice on either Saturday or Monday, followed by an arrest in two days unless he dissociates from the INDIA coalition.

Kejriwal Receives Seventh ED Summons

In the alleged scandal involving Delhi's liquor policy, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned for the seventh time by the Enforcement Directorate. The agency has instructed the CM to appear on the 26th of February (Monday). Responding to the notice, AAP has criticized it as illegal and repeatedly questioned the basis of the summons. The ED, having taken the case to court, could have awaited a court decision instead of issuing the summons.

AAP alleges that the ED's primary motive is to instill fear in Kejriwal. They insinuate that the Enforcement Directorate's decision is retaliatory, influenced by a recent Supreme Court judgment in Chandigarh. If it were solely a legal matter, the ED would wait for the court's verdict rather than issuing notices during the Delhi Assembly's budget session. AAP asserts they will not be intimidated.

Kejriwal Yet to Appear for Previous Six Summons

It’s important to note that despite being summoned six times previously, CM Kejriwal has not yet appeared for questioning at the ED office. Ignoring these summons may compound Kejriwal's troubles, as persistent non-compliance could substantiate allegations of non-cooperation under Section 19 of the ED's powers.
