Renowned former IPS officer, Acharya Kishore Kunal, suffered a heart attack on Sunday morning and passed away. As the esteemed founder and head of the Mahavir Temple Management, his contributions were immense. Following the heart attack, he was rushed to Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital but, unfortunately, could not be revived.
Born on August 10, 1950, Kishore Kunal was an exceptional figure in the Indian Police Service (IPS). Throughout his police career, he was entrusted by then-Prime Minister VP Singh as a special officer to mediate in the Ayodhya dispute between the Vishva Hindu Parishad and the Babri Masjid Action Committee.
Illustrious Career
Kishore Kunal joined the IPS in 1972 as an officer from the Gujarat cadre. He subsequently served as SP of Patna in 1983. His devotion to Lord Mahavir inspired him to take voluntary retirement to elevate the Mahavir Temple to new heights. He also served as the chairman of the Bihar Religious Trust Board.

Kunal also held the position of secretary at Patna's Mahavir Temple. Under his leadership, the temple's renovation commenced on October 30, 1983. The Mahavir Trust later established the Mahavir Cancer Institute, undertaking numerous social initiatives through the temple.
