SpaceX has made an exciting announcement with the unveiling of their new product, the Starlink Mini, a compact satellite internet antenna that fits right into your backpack. Now, you can enjoy superfast internet wherever your adventures take you. This satellite antenna supports built-in WiFi, enabling swift and easy access to high-speed internet on your devices.
The Starlink Mini kit is priced at $599. This portable satellite internet antenna is slightly more expensive, by $100, compared to the standard dish. Currently, the Starlink Mini kit is available exclusively for existing customers. No separate plans have been introduced as of yet.
Starlink customers will have the option to add the Mini Roam service. However, there's a data cap with a monthly limit of 50GB. Customers who choose to use both services will pay $150 per month for high-speed internet access.
Michael Nichol, VP of Starlink Engineering at SpaceX, has shared insights on the integrated WiFi in the Starlink Mini through a post on the X platform. Plans are in place to start production for the international market soon.
The Starlink Mini weighs just 1.13 kilograms and comes with a stand, making it about 60% lighter than the company's standard dish. Under this service, the company is currently offering speeds of up to 100 Mbps with latency around 23 ms. The first Starlink Mini Dishes may be introduced next month.
