UP's Sambhal MP, Ziaur Rahman Burq, is facing increasing challenges. Following revelations of meter tampering and replacing the old meter, the electricity department has now published a list of electronic devices used at Burq's residence. Surprisingly, the department had earlier announced that the meter reading at Burq's home had been zero for the past year. However, the latest list reveals devices consuming a total of 16,500 watts.

The department's report highlights that at the MP's two-story home, there were 83 bulbs, 19 fans, and 3 ACs in operation. Additionally, it mentions numerous other appliances from geysers to microwaves. The electricity team's assessment points to a total usage of 16,480 watts at Burq’s residence.

The Team Accessed the Second Floor via Stairs

New smart meters have been installed at the MP’s residence replacing the old ones. The department's team arrived to inspect these meters and record the readings. They accessed the second floor of the MP's residence using a staircase to check the electricity load.

The inspection aims to determine the extent of electricity usage at the MP's home. Throughout the operation, personnel from the Rapid Action Force and PAC were deployed. A women’s unit from the Rapid Action Force was also present. Senior police officials were on site.
