Political corridors in Bihar are once again buzzing with the controversy of a fake voter card. The Election Commission has issued a notice to the opposition leader and RJD's Tejashwi Yadav for displaying a fraudulent voter ID card. The Commission has mandated the submission of this fake ID card by August 16, 5 PM, failing which legal proceedings will occur.
Notice Sent to Tejashwi by the Election Commission
The notice issued by the Commission states that during a recent press conference, Tejashwi Yadav presented voter ID card number RAB291620. Upon investigation, it was found that this card is not present in the records of the Election Commission and was not issued by them, thus appearing to be fake.
Response Mandated by August 16
The Commission has clarified that falsifying and using a government document is a grave legal offense. In this case, Tejashwi Yadav has been directed to respond by August 16, 5 PM and to submit the fake voter ID card to the Commission.
As of now, Tejashwi Yadav has not given any formal response to the matter. Political discussions surrounding this issue are intensifying, with opposition parties in Bihar labeling the FIR as a political conspiracy, whereas the ruling party views it as necessary, targeting Tejashwi Yadav.
Eyes on Tejashwi Yadav’s Response
It is noteworthy that state assembly elections are set to take place in Bihar within the next two to three months. The political climate is warming up, and this issue is likely to become the focal point of political debate. All eyes are on how Tejashwi Yadav will respond to this notice and whether it will escalate into further legal action.
