In Alwar, Rajasthan, a 76-year-old couple has accused their daughter-in-law and granddaughter of torture, and have registered a case of assault at the local police station. CCTV footage captured the elderly woman being attacked. It's alleged that their daughter-in-law has been pressuring them to transfer their house into her name, resorting to violence and torture as a means of coercion. The couple installed CCTV cameras at home to document the ongoing abuse perpetuated by the daughter-in-law, Meena, and her three daughters.
So intimidating is the daughter-in-law that the couple cannot go outside to urinate at night and are forced to use a bucket inside their room. The couple has filed a report against the continued aggression and mistreatment. Birbal Saini, the elderly man, reported to the police that he is 76 and his wife Lali Devi is 70 years old. They live in the house in Vivekananda Nagar where Meena and her three daughters also reside. Ever since the death of their son six years ago, the daughter-in-law and grandchildren have been physically assaulting them to get the house registered in their name.
The Elderly Couple Accuses Daughter-In-Law and Granddaughters of Assault
On April 20 and January 9, Meena and her daughters were captured on CCTV forcefully pushing Lali Devi, causing her to fall and lose consciousness. The threats of violence have been continuous, with declarations of intent to kill. Although previous complaints were lodged with the local police, no meaningful action has been taken.
Police Record Elderly Couple's Accusations and Begin Investigation
The officer in charge of the Aravali Vihar police station, Gurudutt Saini, mentioned that a case has been registered based on the couple's complaint. Daughter-in-law Meena Saini responded that the accusations of her daughter pushing the grandmother are baseless and being exaggerated. Police have stated that the matter is under investigation and further action will be taken accordingly.
