The results of the Lok Sabha elections are now revealed. Looking at the current status, the NDA has crossed the majority mark, however, it does not seem likely that the BJP can form the government on its own. According to recent trends, the NDA leads with 291 seats, while the India Alliance has secured 234 seats so far. On one hand, the BJP was claiming a victory with more than 400 seats, assured of a dashing win considering its 10-year wave, but on the contrary, leaders of the India Alliance are making their influence felt significantly in major states.

In UP, Maharashtra, and Bengal… NDA's chariot halted in these states

West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh are three such states where the India Alliance is dealing a significant blow to the NDA. These were also the states where if PM Modi's chariot had run unimpeded, then other obstacles would have seemed minor. Uttar Pradesh, offering the largest parliamentary representation, has seen Rahul and Akhilesh impose a break on PM Modi's victory campaign, while in West Bengal, Mamata and Abhishek played the same role. Just before the elections in Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray were dealing with a major rift within their party; however, this duo has so admirably braced against PM Modi's victorious march that the BJP has been left scrambling to secure a majority.

Opposition shifts into active mode after trends

It is to be noted that after the Lok Sabha election trends started coming in, the opposition has moved into active mode. Sharad Pawar said, 'I have spoken to Kharge (Congress President) and Sitaram Yechury. Trends in UP indicate that things have changed. The India Alliance will have a meeting in the evening. I will soon go to Delhi for an MVA meeting.' Pawar mentioned that BJP ran several agendas against us in elections, and we have learned our lesson.

Congress holds a press conference

Meanwhile, a press conference was held by Congress on Tuesday evening. Mallikarjun Kharge, the party president, stated that this mandate is against PM Modi. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said that the India Block and Congress didn’t just fight this election against a single political party, but we fought it against BJP, against all institutions, CBI, and ED, which were captured by the Modi government. He said that this battle was to save the constitution. Congress declared that in this election, we respected the partnership with the India Block. We took them along and wherever the coalition fought, we fought together. Congress has given the country a new vision.

In Uttar Pradesh, the duo of Rahul and Akhilesh cast a spell

In fact, the confidence exuded by Sharad Pawar is based on the trends that were apparent by the afternoon. Speaking of Uttar Pradesh, where major BJP stalwarts were at stake. Those who were believed to easily best their rivals found themselves incessantly chasing their opponents. Following trends up to 3 PM, BJP was only expected to win 33 seats in Uttar Pradesh, whereas SP managed to win 37 and Congress 6 seats.

Mamata-Abhishek duo halts BJP's victory in West Bengal

Moving on to West Bengal, TMC and CM Mamata's stronghold. The Sandeshkhali case had garnered significant media attention just before the election. According to the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BJP had won 18 seats in West Bengal. This time around BJP seems to be limited to only 12 seats, a loss of 6 seats as compared to the last Lok Sabha election. TMC has consistently maintained a lead since the counting began at 8 AM. TMC is winning on 29 seats, whereas BJP is winning only 12 seats and Congress has secured a solitary seat victory.

TMC candidate and current MP Abhishek Banerjee have already won from the Diamond Harbor seat, defeating his rival BJP’s candidate Abhijit Das. TMC candidate Rachna Banerjee from the Hooghly seat has also registered a win with 702,744 votes, while present MP Locket Chatterjee of BJP faced defeat and BJP lost this vital seat. The pairing of Abhishek and Mamata has successfully halted BJP's chariot in West Bengal.

The solidarity between Sharad-Uddhav proves challenging for NDA in Maharashtra

Looking at Maharashtra, emerging as the second big state after Uttar Pradesh, BJP has suffered heavy losses. After Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra has the second highest number of Lok Sabha seats at 48, making it a crucial part of Lok Sabha elections. Examining the confirmed results, NDA has met with a significant setback. Shiv Sena UBT, NCP Sharadchandra Pawar, and Congress Party are all in the electoral fray together. Whereas, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar's NCP, and Bharatiya Janata Party are contesting under the NDA coalition.

In 2019 Maharashtra, BJP had won 23, Shiv Sena 18, and NCP four seats. In Maharashtra, the farmers' protests and Maratha reservation continued to be major challenges for the BJP. The opposition consistently raised these issues.

Seat distribution in Maharashtra

Now looking at the figures, BJP is winning only 10 seats in Maharashtra this time, which is directly 13 less than in the year 201 ]]>
