A day before the explosion near Red Fort in the national capital, agencies apprehended a female doctor. This woman was Dr. Shaheen Shahid. Jammu and Kashmir Police and UP ATS worked together to arrest Dr. Shaheen. Her name has emerged in connection with the same terror network implicated in the Delhi blast. The blast resulted in the deaths of 10 people and injured more than 20.

Who is Dr. Shaheen Shahid, labeled as the India head of Jaish-e-Mohammed's women's wing, Jamaat-ul-Momineen? In fact, Dr. Shaheen's name surfaced after the arrest of two doctors from Faridabad. According to agencies, Dr. Muzammil Ahmed, Dr. Umar Nabi, and Shaheen Shahid were operating a white-collar terror network under the guise of medical professionals. She is said to be running this network as the India head of Jamaat-ul Mominin, a women’s wing of the notorious terror outfit, Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Reports suggest she was operating under the directives of Saadia Azhar, the sister of Jaish terrorist Masood Azhar. Following Shaheen's arrest, the Jammu and Kashmir police and UP ATS raided her house in Lucknow, capturing her brother, Dr. Parvez Ansari, who teaches at Integral University. The agencies have seized numerous documents, hard disks, and mobile phones from her residence in Lucknow.

Shaheen Was a Lecturer in Kanpur

Dr. Shaheen also served as a lecturer at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College (GSVM) in Kanpur. She joined GSVM as a lecturer in 2006. According to college records, she took leave without permission in 2013 and failed to respond to notices sent by the college. Consequently, the college administration terminated her services in 2021. Colleagues at GSVM describe her as quiet; she severed all contacts after 2013.

Marriage to Maharashtra's Jafar

Dr. Shaheen Shahid was married to Jafar Hayat from Maharashtra. However, the relationship didn't last long, leading to a divorce in 2015. After her divorce, Shaheen moved to Faridabad in Haryana, where she met Dr. Muzammil. Later, she established a direct connection with Saadia Azhar, Masood Azhar's sister. Rifles and live cartridges were found in her car, suspected to be linked to terrorist activities.

NIA Investigating Foreign Contacts

Now, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating the case. It is examining Dr. Shaheen Shahid's academic record, social media connections, and foreign contacts. Security agencies suspect she maintained contact with handlers based in Pakistan via social media. There is suspicion that social media was also used to build a network of radicalized women in India.
