Kolkata Junior Doctor Rape Murder Case:
The noose is tightening around former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh. Alongside the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also initiated a probe against him. Ghosh stands accused of tampering with evidence at the crime scene. For the first time, images of that crime scene have surfaced, leaving everyone astounded.
The 45-Second Video Emerges
Amidst the ongoing Nabanno March in Kolkata against the RG Kar rape and murder case, a viral video has raised serious questions about the functioning of the West Bengal government and Kolkata police. This 45-second video, dated to the morning of August 9, claims to show the same seminar room where the horrific incident involving the trainee doctor occurred.
Police and Crowd Present at the Crime Scene
Astonishingly, the video depicts a throng of people standing around the crime scene, conversing and using their mobile phones, with police officers appearing indifferent to the crowd invading the area. Despite their presence, there was no effort by the police to secure the scene or disperse the onlookers.

Police Explanation at the Crime Scene
The Kolkata police have acknowledged the video as genuine, filmed on the morning of August 9 in the seminar room. They claim that the area around the body was cordoned off, and the people seen in the video were standing outside the cordoned area. However, the presence of so many people inside the seminar hall raises serious concerns about the integrity of the crime scene.
Claims of Identifying Individuals
The video reportedly identifies several individuals, including Sanjeev Chattopadhyay, in-charge of the RG Kar Hospital police post, lawyer Shantanu De, former RG Kar principal Sandeep Ghosh's PA Prasun Chattopadhyay, and forensic demonstrator Debashish Som.
Accountability of Kolkata Police
The pressing question is why so many people were present at the crime scene. The crowd included not just hospital doctors and staff but also numerous outsiders, who had no business being there. Despite police claims of the crime scene being compromised by a large crowd, the video clearly shows people loitering around with police officers in close proximity. The Kolkata police must now provide a clear explanation for this.

Central DCP's Bold Claims
Despite the controversy, Kolkata Police DCP Central Indira Mukherjee defended the authenticity of the video in a press conference held on Monday. She stated that the people seen in the video had not tampered with any evidence. According to her, the police had cordoned off the area around the trainee doctor's body, and the crowd was standing outside the restricted zone.
Entry of People into Seminar Hall
Experts question how the police could assume the exact spot of the murder so early in the investigation. The possibility exists that the murder could have occurred elsewhere in the seminar hall, or the body might have been moved. By allowing people into the seminar hall, the integrity of the crime scene was compromised.
Bike Registered to Police Commissioner
Further investigations by the CBI revealed that on the night of the incident, accused Sanjay Roy used a bike registered to none other than the Kolkata Police Commissioner. This revelation adds another layer of complexity to the case. The bike has since been seized by the CBI.

Sanjay's Drunken Adventures
Questions arose as to why Sanjay Roy, not a police officer, had access to a government bike. Astonishingly, he used the police bike for his illicit activities, even driving through red-light areas while heavily intoxicated. Despite his arrest for the murder case, this incident highlights a pattern of law-breaking behavior and misuse of police resources.
Kolkata Police Clarification on the Bike
Kolkata Police clarified via an X post that all police bikes are registered under the Commissioner’s name, including the one used by Sanjay Roy. The bike was seized upon Roy’s arrest.
