JD Vance Visits Akshardham Temple

Before meeting PM Modi, JD Vance and his family visited Delhi’s Akshardham Temple on their first day. Post-visit, he expressed that his children enjoyed the temple immensely. Vance’s trip holds personal significance as his wife, Usha Vance, is of Indian origin and practices Hinduism. Her parents hail from Andhra Pradesh. Post-visit, they plan to explore Jaipur, visiting Amer Fort and Hawa Mahal, followed by a trip to Agra to admire the Taj Mahal.

What Makes the Jaipur Trip Special?

Arriving in Jaipur at 9 PM on a Monday, Vice President JD Vance and his family stayed at the Rambagh Palace, a luxurious 190-year-old royal palace-turned-hotel. Ten luxury suites were reserved for them, and preparations began on April 1. To ensure security and privacy, hotel bookings were closed online from April 1 to April 23.

Vance stayed in the 'Grand Presidential Suite,' which spans 1,798 square feet featuring a garden view bedroom, private terrace, grand lounge, gallery, and jacuzzi-equipped bathroom. The suite was adorned with family photos and flowers. Meals were served in gold-plated dishes engraved with their names. Doctors and nurses were on standby 24/7 near the suite.

On April 22, from 9 to 11:30 AM, the Vance family toured the Amer Fort, greeted royally with two special elephants, Chanda and Pushpa, donning 350-year-old silver jewelry worth 6.2 million. Silver jhoons were mounted on the elephants by the Elephant Village Development Committee. Two tour guides escorted them, touring Amer Fort, followed by breakfast before departing for the Rajasthan International Center.
