Startling revelations have emerged in the murder case of Karnataka's retired DGP Omprakash. The victim was stabbed ten times, and two knives have been discovered. His wife and daughter stand accused, both now in police custody. In a startling confession, his wife Pallavi claimed she acted in self-defense. She said Omprakash often brandished a pistol, threatening her life. Yet, their son accused both mother and sister of tormenting his father.

Sources state that before the incident, Omprakash was eating fish at the dining table when his wife Pallavi began arguing with him. The heated exchange led Pallavi to throw chili powder at Omprakash, who frantically ran around, trying to find relief from the burning sensation. Seizing the opportunity, Pallavi attacked him with a knife, leaving him writhing on the ground for nearly 20 minutes. Pallavi watched as he struggled in pain.

Pallavi told her friend - I've killed the monster

The entire ground floor was drenched in blood. Following the incident, Pallavi called a friend via video call, declaring, 'I've killed the monster.' She then called the police, admitting to her husband's murder. Her daughter Kriti has also been detained on suspicion. Authorities confirm that a sharp weapon was used in the attack. Karnataka's Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, stated that the investigation is ongoing.

Pallavi suffers from schizophrenia, DGP was troubled

According to Home Minister Parameshwara, Omprakash, a commendable officer, had worked closely with him. Meanwhile, Omprakash's son, Kartikesh, has filed an FIR accusing his mother Pallavi and sister Kriti of complicity in the murder. The complaint suggests Pallavi suffers from schizophrenia with ongoing treatments, causing her husband significant financial strain.

Police Inspector describes the couple's relationship

In response to Kartikesh's complaint, authorities have registered an FIR under sections 103, 103(1)(3)(5) of the Indian Penal Code. VIP Security Inspector Srinivas shared insights into the strained relationship between Omprakash and Pallavi. He recounts, “At 3:05 p.m., I received a call from Sir. We had a pleasant conversation. I mentioned visiting him, but he advised against it, fearing a dispute as Madam was home.”

Speculation of property dispute behind the murder

Inspector Srinivas revealed that Madam seldom entertained visitors at home and appeared mentally distressed. He noted Omprakash confessed to significant expenses related to his wife's treatment and felt isolated due to her behavior. The true motive behind the murder remains unidentified, though a property dispute is suspected.

Pallavi and her daughter Kriti in police custody

Reports suggest a land dispute in Karnataka's Dandeli is central to the couple's conflict. Months earlier, Pallavi attempted to file a police complaint at the HSR Layout but resorted to protest when refused. The precise reasons behind the incident will only be uncovered through thorough police inquiry. Currently, authorities continue to interrogate the mother-daughter duo in custody.

Kartikesh reveals in his complaint

At 68, retired IPS Omprakash became Karnataka's DGP in 2015, originally hailing from Champaran, Bihar, and holding a master's degree in geology. His son Kartikesh's complaint to the police reads, 'For the past week, my mother, Mrs. Pallavi, has been threatening to kill my father, Mr. Omprakash (retired DGP and IGP). Due to these threats, my father stayed with his sister, Sarita Kumari.'

Kartikesh continued, 'Two days ago, my younger sister Kriti visited Sarita Kumari's residence, pressuring my father to return home. Against his wishes, she brought him back. On April 20, around 5 p.m., I was at the Karnataka Golf Association in Domlur. Neighbor Jayshree Sridharan called, alerting me that my father was found lying downstairs. By 5:45 p.m., I arrived to find police officers and others present at the scene.'

'My father lay in a pool of blood with injuries to his head and body, surrounded by a broken bottle and a knife. He was taken to St. John's Hospital. My mother, Mrs. Pallavi, and my sister Kriti suffer from depression and frequently quarrel with my father. I firmly suspect their involvement in his murder and request legal action.' Currently, police pursue the investigation based on this complaint.
