In the heart of India's capital, Delhi, near the historic Red Fort, a shocking incident unfolded as a cab and an e-rickshaw collided. The altercation escalated when assailants shot the cab driver, firing around 4-5 rounds. Unfortunately, one of those bullets also struck an innocent bystander. The cab driver tragically passed away while receiving medical care. The attackers are still at large.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, around 2 AM. Police were alerted by LNJP Hospital about a gunshot victim named Mohammed Saqib, aged 36, who had been admitted with injuries to his upper abdomen. Despite the medical efforts, Saqib succumbed to his injuries.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that around 12 AM, a Maruti WagonR was traveling from Kodia Pul towards Chatta Rail Crossing when it collided with an e-rickshaw, leading to an argument.

Within minutes, the disagreement turned physical. Two individuals from the e-rickshaw pulled the driver out of his vehicle. As the crowd gathered, the cab driver managed to grab one of the assailants who was attacking him.

During the scuffle, one of the attackers brandished a gun and fired at both Saqib and a beggar named Lavkush, who was watching the scene unfold. Passersby rushed both victims to LNJP Hospital; however, the cab driver could not survive the ordeal. A forensic investigation of the scene has been conducted. The police have filed a case under IPC sections 302/307 and the Arms Act, and the investigation is ongoing.
