Just before the Lok Sabha elections, Delhi Police have achieved a major breakthrough by recovering about ₹3 crore in cash during a routine check. Three individuals have been detained in the Delhi Cantt area. According to the police, this cash is linked to a scrap dealer in Shahdara.
On March 22nd, during checks in the Delhi Cantt area, two individuals on scooters were stopped. Searches of two bags yielded ₹3 crore in cash, leading to the detention of the three individuals.

The police reported that the detained individuals were employed by the aforementioned scrap dealer. They had transported the cash from Gurugram and were meant to deliver it in Karol Bagh. The trio has since been handed over to the Income Tax Department.

The IT Department is now investigating the entire case to determine who the accused were carrying the money from and who in Karol Bagh was intended to receive it. Moreover, the department is probing whether this cash was earmarked for use in the Lok Sabha elections.
