Following the successful implementation on the Delhi-Meerut route, attention now shifts to the Delhi-Alwar and Delhi-Panipat routes, where the rapid rail corridor will soon break ground pending central government approval. With the Detailed Project Report in its final stages and land acquisition efforts accelerating, work on these routes could commence shortly. The governments of Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana have already committed their shares for the Alwar and Panipat routes.

Operation of the rapid rail on the Delhi-Meerut route promises smoother journeys to Panipat and Alwar. The need for public transport is greatest on the Delhi to Shahjahanpur, Neemrana, Behror, and Alwar route due to the high concentration of industrial units. Thousands commute daily for work from neighboring cities. While speaking to the media, Central Housing and Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar mentioned the completion of remaining formalities, intending to initiate the tender process within a month. By next year, the corridors to Alwar and Panipat are expected to be underway.

The Delhi-Alwar Rapid Rail Project will roll out in three phases. The first phase stretches 107 kilometers from Delhi Sarai Kale Khan through Shahjahanpur, Neemrana, to Behror, encompassing about 16 stations, five of which will be underground and 11 elevated. The rapid rail will run alongside the Jaipur-Delhi Highway. In the second phase, a 35-kilometer track to Sotanala will be laid, and the final phase will extend 58 kilometers to Alwar, culminating in a 199-kilometer corridor.
