The chill of winter and dense fog have descended upon many parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR. On Saturday evening, several areas of Delhi experienced light drizzles, with a minimum temperature recorded at 7.7 degrees Celsius. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) noted that dense fog in the morning severely reduced visibility, causing delays in train schedules.
According to the railways, the fog situation has resulted in 25 trains bound for the national capital and some parts of North India running late. The Meteorological Department predicts that today, Sunday, areas like Karawal Nagar, Dilshad Garden, Seemapuri, Shahdara, Vivek Vihar, Preet Vihar, Jaffarpur, Najafgarh, Dwarka, Akshardham, Ayanagar, and Dedhmundi will continue to experience light rain. The sky is expected to remain cloudy throughout the day, with chances of light rain. The maximum temperature might reach 17 degrees Celsius and the minimum may stay around 11 degrees Celsius.
IMD reported that humidity on Saturday was at a full 100%, intensifying the cold due to mist and light rain. Visibility in the Safdarjung area was around 50 meters from 12:30 am to 1:30 am before it improved to 200 meters.
