A significant development has emerged in the murder case of Trilochan Singh Wazir, a senior leader of the National Conference and a former member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council. Harpreet Singh Khalsa, the accused, phoned a close associate of Trilochan Singh, declaring, 'Harmit and I have killed Trilochan Singh. Come and collect the body.'
After confessing to the murder over the phone, the suspect switched off the phone in the New Delhi area. Harpreet Singh Khalsa revealed the murder details over the phone to a friend of Trilochan Singh, who informed his brother (a retired SSP in Jammu and Kashmir) about the incident. The retired SSP subsequently informed the police.
During the investigation, examination of CCTV footage at the crime scene unveiled that the accused Harpreet was accompanied by Harmit. Sources say that Harpreet Khalsa misled Trilochan Singh's family into thinking that he had gone abroad for several days. However, upon checking with the immigration department, the truth was uncovered that Trilochan had never left India.

Afterward, the family's suspicion towards Harpreet intensified. Harpreet had rented a house in the Basai Dara Pur area of Moti Nagar in January, suggesting the murder was premeditated. Harpreet had already sold all items from the house where the body was discovered.
Trilochan Singh's brother informed the police that an intense political rivalry was ongoing with the suspects. This rivalry may have led to the murder. The brother also provided other names that might be involved in the conspiracy. However, the true motive and the murder's execution details will only be unveiled upon the suspects' arrest.
